In order to promote the film „Loving“ of our diversity film series, we designed a movie poster which combines the corporate design of the University of Applied Sciences Konstanz with a letterpress ampersand representing both races, hinting at the film. The cardboard structure of the ampersand printing template created unique patterns on each poster. Combining letterpress and screenprint we hand-printed two types of posters, seperated into dark and light. They were displayed alternately on the campus.
Dark & Light
The big printing letter made of cardboard was cut using a Lasercutter and then put together as a printing plate in traditional printing technologies. The rough material created an individual structure on each poster, which could be varied by the amount of paint and pressure onto all posters in soft blue, one of the corporate colors. We aimed to create color-contrasting posters, dark and light, which were displayed alternately on the campus.
