To promote our movie night of the German film "My Blind Date with Life" we printed 10 handmade minimalist letterpress posters. Looking plain from a distance but revealing all needed information on a unique surface after taking a closer look. Using our schools corporate design and combining it with the film title and other useful information we set out to make our posters with a unique feel fitting the theme. The paper we chose is Gmund Cotton in the color Linen Cream and a strength of 600g/m² – ideal for letterpress.
Letterpress without using metal printing plate
Each letter was cut out of a thin layer of transparent Vivak using a Lasercutter. Afterwards we glued the single letters onto a fixated piece of paper to create our printing template. After setting the ideal strength of the printing cylinder we produced 10 individual Posters.
